The past two years has been nothing short of life changing for me. Now, I am back in school, working towards a career change, and taken on many new responsibilities. The next year is onward and upward in this journey called life.
For starters, I have become the organizer for the Southern Illinois Social Media and Web Development Group. I have been putting forth a lot of effort with some great people to get the group to take off. We had our first MeetUp on Thursday. It was a great success!!! I have also been working with some of the big names in the WordPress community to help our little group. Our next meeting will be in September and I can not wait!RSVP for the next event today!
When in high school I had a feeling that one day I would become a 4-H leader. That day has come. Every second Tuesday of the month I will be leading Carterville’s only 4-H club. I am very excited to have spent my youth in such a phenomenal organization and am now able go give to the next generation of clovers.
I am also starting to take on more responsibilities over at Bit51. I am in the process of writing many more posts and taking over the marketing and promotional side of Bit51. I can not think of a company that I have believed in more than Bit51. I am very appreciative and static for all that I do to promote the company. If you do have a WordPress site and you do not use Better WP Security, I want to know why! Only so I can change your mind and become our customer.
Since I still think I can add more to my plate, I have decided to start a mom blog. Now stop rolling your eyes and listen. It will not be all about my amazing child, even though she is pretty amazing. It will be more about the tricks and tips I have picked up over the years as being a teacher and parent. We are going to make flubber, play in the dirt, and talk about what really helps the ear pain that only visits at 1:00 in the morning. I plan to launch early September as a birthday present to myself. I will tell more when there is more so stay tuned!
Did I also mention that the kid is in cheer, another 4-H group, and will be doing volleyball in the fall? Thank goodness for my iPhone calendar and Evernote! I could not live life without either! Who needs sleep? As in the words of Jon Bon Jovi “I will sleep when I’m dead!”
