Due to the massive dump of snow, my last day at the daycare was Thursday. It was a bittersweet ending. While I will always love working with children it is time for the next chapter in my life. I am now heading in the way I belong. While I am not sure what the future holds, I do believe this is what I should be doing.
On Monday I start my training at Megabytes. I will be joining their team as their customer service representative. I am looking forward to my new endeavor. The first month will be spent in training. Then I will move on to customer relations. It is really a blend of everything I enjoy doing.
Taking this new role means I will also have a lot more time for other ventures. I will have more time to dedicate to my family and my blog. Right now I have been working on learning the wonderful world of code. Code Academy is a phenomenal tool for those who have no clue and wanting to learn. I am also going to hone in on my web design skills and eventually take a stab at building plugins. I have a new blog I am also working on that I will have up in January. It is going to be great!
With my friend Chris taking his little plugin to the next level with iThemes, it is giving us both some transition time leaving the Bit51 project. Maybe you have heard of it. Better WordPress Security. It has a mere 1.2 million downloads the last time I looked. It was a painstaking few months of not being able to say anything about the merger and I could not be happier for him. When I found out I felt as though I was quitting the best job I ever had. Funny thing is, it was the least paid gig I have ever done. I will never be able to repay the experience, the learning, and especially the fun I have spent with Chris helping him with Bit51. That is not the end for either of us though. More great things are to come. This is only the beginning.
